Lighting up shared spaces in a sustainable way.

SOCIAL EXPERIMENTS WITH LIGHT

This is a classroom project undertaken at Willem De Kooning Academy, Rotterdam in 2017.

PART ONE

TYNDALL | COMMUNITY LAMP

TYNDALL is a lamp meant to be shared, where one source can be used by multiple people in varied ways. It acts as a binder in creating a social fabric around a single source of light. In this way, people collectively reduce their carbon footprint creating a small social hub around the lamp. It can produce different intensities of light and project patterns from different points on its surface.

Reflecting natural light to make it dance.

PART TWO

FYRE | GIVING FORM TO NATURAL LIGHTING

FYRE is a disc that reflects natural light to produce illuminations of different colors and forms. It can project light on non-luminous objects and bring them to life with the projected glow. This DIY product can adorn living spaces without any dependancy on a power supply. A sustainable, frugal way of creating excitement on dull objects and flat surfaces.
